Rainbows 3-5 Year Olds
In the Rainbow Room your Child will be developing constantly through independent play and investigation, gaining confidence in readiness for School.
Your child will have their own Key Worker who will cater for their daily needs and will monitor and track their progress through the 'eyLog'.
Each day we gather in small key groups on the carpet for circle time, working on our sitting, listening and social skills.
Your child will be encouraged to participate in phonics and mathematics games to develop these skills in a fun and exciting way.
Rainbows are really physical, we enjoy 'Sticky Kids' to encourage healthy living and gymnastics. External visitors provide weekly sessions to get us up and moving such as Yoga and Paul the Music Man.
The Rainbow Room has many areas allowing opportunities for extended learning through child choice. In the moment planning allows us to regularly change the areas to fulfil your child's interests. Daily 'Tuff spot trays' capture your child's imagination and promotes the seven areas of their development.
We have our own large playground with cars and bikes and a race track, a gravel builders pit, allotment where we grow fruit and vegetables, all weather learning space and themed beach huts- Maggie's Café, Pirates Cove and The Children's Hospital. Whenever possible we encourage free flow play between indoors and outdoors, our Rainbow's love splashing in the puddles so bring your wellies
“There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.” ― Alfred Wainwright, A Coast to Coast Walk
The children explore the wider community through visits to Local shops, parks, allotments, and the Library. We have also made a link with the Limes Residential care home and try to visit each term.
